Directions on how to measure for your home blinds project

Some things to remember

• Always Use a steel measuring tape and never use a cloth tape as it may stretch.
• Don worry if your windows are entirely square. This is normal in older houses
• Lastly decide if you want your blinds to fit inside your window recess or be position outside the window frame.

Measuring for blinds to fit inside window recess: 
When measuring make sure it is exactly the size you measure.

Width
Measure in 3 places (top, middle, and bottom) and use the NARROWEST measurement.

Height
Measure in 3 places and use the TALLEST measurement, EXCEPT for privacy sheer blinds (use the shortest measurement).

Measuring for blinds to fit inside window recess: 
When measuring make sure it is exactly the size you measure. Specify the exact width you require your blinds to be and the exact height tat the drop to. Also consider adding a few inches on the sides, top, and bottom for additional privacy as well as to block more light. Be alert of any obstructions like a deadbolt or door knob.
